Easiest omelet in the history of civilization

This is just brilliant. Take a few eggs (or Egg Beaters), and toss them in a Ziploc bag with a little milk, plus whatever toppings you want. I’m gonna go with onions, jalapenos and a little bit of cheese. Seal the bag, mush it all together and drop it in a pot of boiling water.

I’m not sure on the cooking time. I’ve seen figures anywhere from 4 to 13 minutes. I guess just take it out when it’s done.

Voila!

    Matt,

Cooking times vary according to size of eggs, and initial temperature of the various discretionary toppings.

Jimb, I got that email too! Smack is known for good ‘ens! (P.S. he doesn’t send me the really bad ones all you guys get and for that I am very thankful!)

My daughter does this in the microwave. Just mix up the eggs in the Ziplock bag and put the ingredients on top. No mixing necessary as the eggs will form around the ingredients. I’m trying this out this morning!

Matt, I tried it in the microwave - beat up 2 eggs, added ingredients and popped in the microwave. I cooked it for 3 minutes but that was too long. 2-1/2 is better, depending on your microwave power. It’s neat. The eggs just covered over the ingredients. Sweet! Best of all, no pan to wash!

That is an old one… used to do it with a hot plate and a bowl of water in the dorms in college…
