Tupac Shakur arts center opens in Atlanta

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the pinnacle of Western civilization:

When rap artist Tupac Shakur was murdered nearly a decade ago, his mother vowed to keep his memory alive.

Shakur-Davis’ dream became a reality this month with the opening of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation Center for the Arts on Memorial Drive in DeKalb County. The grand opening of the visitor center and peace garden is the first phase of an anticipated $11 million project that eventually will include a performing arts theater, museum, art gallery, community meeting space and classrooms.

Such a wonderful tribute to a man whose poetry included poignant lines like “F*** the world.”

The adjacent 6-acre peace garden is the centerpiece of the arts center, according to Maxie. A bronze statue of Tupac will be installed there in September.

A peace garden? Are you kidding me? The guy — a convicted rapist — had “THUG LIFE” and an AK-47 tattooed on his stomach. His mom, who is opening the center, was a violent Black Panther activist who was imprisoned for her attempts to set off a race war.

I believe with all my heart that is Arts Gallery is is a blessing to alot of peolple that study the craft that Tupac has studied, and mastered it to a manifest.Tupac was a master of the trick of all trades. He knew he could be anything he wanted to be in society, but he felt like he wanted to be “Thug Life” well thats what society build him up to be I dont if it was supossed to be a good or bad characteristic, but if you look at in a good aspect then you will discover light at thee end of THUG “LIFE”.he just was explaining about life experiences.things that we all go through,I know Tupac wasnt the only human that experienced false alligatoins against him,the different with his was raped.I could go on & on & on &on,but I want I rest my case.I A TRUE “SOLDIER”. If you cant reach me at that e-mail address. My home address is 2639 picardy circle so.unitA College Park GA.303349

With all due respect the person that posted this must be completely naive about life. Tupac wrote about what he knew, what he grew up in. Do you understand that the people that fall victim to this lifestyle know they are making a bad choice, but its the only way for them to keep the heat on. Inner city schools are horrible, so getting out of the cycle of poverty is harder to break then you understand.
